DHC Coffee are coffee roasters based in Brisbane, Australia. Not only are they have great coffee, they?re showcasing authentic, personality driven creative across each one of their products.
We were approached by Dan at DHC to create an identity and packaging for his products that matched his newly developed tone of voice guidelines (created by the stellar Shanny at Wild Spark Copy #fangirls).
We wanted to develop an identity that would slip seamlessly together with the creative we would develop for the packaging. Something that would be versatile, work across a range of different styles.
- We instantly got to work on a mood board that would connect both visuals and copy to really emphasise the brand (and product) personality.
- We then got to work on creating custom illustrations and finding typography that suited the tone of the copy for each product to talk directly to the audience from both a visual and verbal standpoint.
- We used a tint of the primary colour beige and a selection of secondary colours to segment each product.
- We wanted the products to look different but part of a collection that would really stand out on a shelf.
- We then created information ID cards that people can collect and take home which states the identity of the coffee personality and the coffee directions.
With so many different types of coffee on the market shelves, together with DHC and Wild Spark Copy, we wanted to create something that individuals could connect personally with. We think we nailed it (apparently so does everyone else).
